Be responsible
Be respectful
Be safe
At Discovery, we pride ourselves in being respectful, responsible and safe with empathy. As a school, we have created common expectations based on these principles. These building-wide expectations are posted throughout our school for staff and students to reference.
We also believe it is important to give the opportunity for success to all Wildcats. Our school has dedicated time to teach our expectations, as well as teach lessons around social-emotional health, growth mindset and building school community.
We believe that responsibility, respect, safety and empathy are all qualities that will help our students succeed and, ultimately, create a better world.
The Discovery community has developed common expectations for the purpose of creating a positive culture that allows and facilitates high levels of learning. These expectations are focused on safety, responsibility and respect with empathy. Staff members will be intentional in teaching, modeling and periodically reviewing the common expectations throughout the year. We ask that every student follow these expectations and the Discovery givens:
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself
- Use appropriate language and voice level
- Follow adult directions the first time they are given
- Help maintain a clean campus
- Respect personal space and property of others
