Three Vancouver Public Schools marching bands earned top honors for their performances at the Loyalty Days Parade in Long Beach, Washington, on May 1.
The Discovery Middle School band, directed by David Conditt, earned a second-place trophy in the middle-school division.
Hudson’s Bay High School, directed by Mike Meskel, took home the first-place trophy in the 3A division.
Fort Vancouver High School’s band, conducted by Keith Norris, took second place in the 3A division.
In addition, the Fort Vancouver band was awarded the Neil and Mary LeClaire Memorial Trophy for all-around performance and conduct.
